First produced in 1944, The Glass Menagerie became an instant classic and is considered one of the greatest American plays ever written.

Perhaps one of the best ways for us to strike at the heart of this year’s Festival theme “Come Together” and to truly confront the questions surrounding what it is that connects us is by watching and reflecting on the story of a family that is torn apart... Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie takes place now and in the past. It is a glimpse into the memory of Tom Wingfield - being played in this production by Bermudian William Vickers. Tom is the narrator of the play as well as a character in it. He takes us back in time to a small apartment in a lower middle-class neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri where he once lived with his mother Amanda and sister Laura.

This production is directed by Bermudian Rowan Vickers and features an esteemed cast of Bermudian, American and Canadian actors: Karen Wood as Amanda, William Vickers as Tom, Leigha Sinnott as Laura and Adam Schroeder as Jim O’Connor.
