Laugh, have fun and enjoy an evening of uniquely Bermudian poetry, spoken word and music, a gathering of generations of artists inspired by the beauty and complexity of their island home.
The production celebrates a broad cross-section of Bermudian poets and spoken word artists showcasing Jerry’s work as well as their own in a continuation of his inspiration and passion. Featured artists include: Heather Nova, Christina Frith, Chris Astwood, Kim Dismont Robinson, Patrika Ferguson, Nick Hutchings, Debbie Lombardo, Paul Maddern, Tiffany Paynter, Ajamu (Andra Simons), Alan Smith, Yesha Townsend, Adum Reb (Keamon Woolaston).
Jerry was a visionary and a free spirit. He was a fixer and a thinker, a dreamer and a doer, a poet and storyteller, a farmer and conservationist. He is widely known for his collection of local vernacular poetic essays, Oh Gawd, I Vish Dis Ig’rance Vud Stop! The performance is an opportunity to explore the merging of deeper Bermudian cultural experiences into the rich 43-year legacy of the Bermuda Festival.
Presented in collaboration with BEST, a charity whose values and objectives were closely aligned with those of Jeremy Frith.
